Back in 2018 Contractbook was still a small company. With our primary service written in Elixir programming language, we could afford running our entire infra on only a couple of dynos in Heroku. But as time and market presented new challanges, the company had to adapt, and so had to adapt its infrastructure.

This is a story of the many things infrastructure at Contractbook: what state (and why) it was back in a day, what kind of challenges it faced as the company grew, and what where the triggers that helped it evolve. The talk will also cover current state of infra, and will take a shy look into the future. This is a story of our journey, and all the sweet and bitter lessons that come with it.
