The use of web-based applications and Linux OS is generally rare in dental practice. Web-based applications open up many new possibilities for electronic patient records. The customized open source system OpenEMR has been used in a private dental practice for twelve years. In close cooperation with the doctor, some practical changes were made to improve the presentation and use of the data.
