After WebAssembly got supported in major desktop and mobile browsers what is planned next for this technology whose main goal is to enable high-performance web applications? There are several important new features currently under development for WebAssembly 2.0. One of them is the support for garbage collection in WebAssembly that will allow for languages that use this memory management technique to be compiled directly to WebAssembly. Support for threads, Relaxed SIMD, and other useful features is also on its way.
