Join Radiona.org’s OpenLAB and Neo-retro Corner at DORS/CLUC 2025!

We’re excited to welcome Radiona.org to the 30th anniversary edition of the DORS/CLUC 2025 conference!

On the first day of the conference, May 22, 2025, Radiona will set up their OpenLAB and Neo-retro corner, offering visitors an interactive experience with a retro tech exhibition and a series of drop-in workshops.

Neo-retro corner
In this space, you’ll have the chance to try out legendary retro computers and gaming devices from Radiona’s collection, including the Amiga, Spectrum, Commodore, and other vintage gems. Step back to a time when computers had just a few kilobytes of memory but still managed to perform amazing and fun tasks. Experience it all for yourself!

OpenLAB drop-in radionice
1. Radiona ZigZag e-Badge
ZigZag badge – a simple yet thoughtfully designed device developed for CTF challenges at security conferences. Built using recycled components from previous projects, the badge features five LEDs and a single button, making it perfect for experimenting with PoV effects, Morse code, and more. You’ll have the chance to explore the design process and see how these badges come to life.

2. FM Radio Kit
Solder your FM radio kit in 10-20-30 minutes and enjoy the tunes!  Soldering and building an FM radio kit is important because it reconnects people with the physical, hands-on processes behind everyday technologies. It demystifies how communication works, builds confidence in electronics skills, and nurtures creativity by showing that technology is something you can make, not just consume. Plus, it is great to listen to some music while you are gardening for a weekend and not using your mobile phone all the time.

3. Radiona DIY Synth
In this workshop, you’ll get to build your own mini synthesizer using a kit designed by Igor Brkić. Along the way, you’ll learn the basics of electronics, how to solder, connect components, and understand what makes the synth tick. No prior experience needed – and yes, you’ll take your synth home and make some serious noise with it!

4. ORI The Badger – e-Badge
The ORI Badger is a DIY kit that you can use as a badge/brooch, key chain, or necklace, whichever suits you best. With this kit, you’ill master the basics of electricity and soldering while learning why the badger is a cool resident of planet Earth.

And behind it all is the team that made it happen:
Goran Mahovlić – coordinator
Deborah Hustić, Aleksandar Vojnić, Damir Prizmić, Marko Jovanović, Igor Brkić, Emard, Marvin.

A big thank you to Radiona and their team for their collaboration and everything they’re bringing to make DORS/CLUC 2025 even more special!
