Merlijn Wajer earned his Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam, laying the foundation for his journey into the tech world. His enthusiasm for free and open-source software permeates both his academic and extracurricular activities.

One of Merlijn’s notable endeavors includes co-founding the “Maemo Leste” association in Bulgaria, dedicated to developing an ethical smartphone operating system. This project reflects his commitment to transparency and user empowerment.

He is also a co-founder of the “Hart voor Internetvrijheid” foundation, where he actively advocates for online anonymity and digital privacy rights, underscoring his dedication to protecting individual freedoms in the digital age.
