I’ve gone through a number of routers in the past two decades of being a hobby networking guy, and yet was dissapointed with all of them. So I decided I’ll do something about it – make my own. But not in a traditional way. I’m building a router that’s mostly community driven, will be as open source as possible (some bits will not be to keep competitive advantage, of course) and will share the whole journey on YouTube.
I’ve already raised the first round of financing (170k) and after a month of announcing the project, the waitlist already has 2000 people subscribed.
In the talk, I’ll go through what my issues were with modern routers, what my ideas are for an “ideal” one and how I’m approaching the problem/solution.
